Position: Quality Assurance (QA) Manager Location: Monaghan, Ireland Sector: FMCG / Food Manufacturing Type: Full-time | On-site An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join a dynamic and fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a quality professional with a passion for food safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement. Overview The QA Manager will take full ownership of the Quality Management System, ensuring that all products consistently meet safety and customer specifications. This role plays a critical part in maintaining and enhancing food safety culture across the site. Key Responsibilities Lead, coach, and support QA personnel, production team leaders, and wider teams in all aspects of product and raw material conformance. Ensure consistent application of the HACCP plan across the site, supporting the release of safe products every time. Conduct internal audits, document findings, and drive corrective and preventative actions. Represent QA during customer inquiries, site visits, audits, and inspections from regulatory bodies. Prepare and coordinate both internal and third-party audits to maintain certifications and customer standards. Monitor hygiene practices on-site and drive implementation of agreed hygiene standards. Partner with production to ensure that quality, safety, and legal standards are upheld throughout all operations. Manage and maintain HACCP systems, risk assessments, and hygiene-related documentation. Own and update all product specifications for raw materials and finished goods. Collect and analyze quality metrics including hygiene scores, GMP observations, complaints, micro results, and supplier performance. Ensure compliance with documentation procedures, maintaining accurate, accessible historical records. Drive continuous improvement initiatives using data insights to improve quality and efficiency. What We're Looking For Proven experience in a senior quality role within a food/FMCG manufacturing environment. In-depth knowledge of BRC standards and retailer/customer codes of practice. Solid understanding of food legislation and food safety principles. HACCP certification and food safety training. Qualification in food science or a related discipline (Diploma or higher). Familiarity with new product development (NPD) processes in a manufacturing setting. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop teams. Confident communicator, able to work cross-functionally across departments. Technically proficient with MS Excel, PowerPoint, and quality management systems.
