Consultant Psychiatrist CAMHS Community Eating Disorder Service
Vacancy due to retirement of current consultant. Post holder will join Pennine Community Eating Disorder (PCEDS) teams, providing consultant psychiatry input and clinical leadership into the two Community Eating Disorder Hubs (South Tower: Stockport, Tameside & Glossop; North Tower: Bury, Oldham & Rochdale).
This is a full‑time post (10 PA) with 5 programmed activities per CEDS team. Ideal for an experienced community eating disorder service consultant or a newly qualified child and adolescent psychiatrist looking for a split post between community CAMHS and CEDS.
Main duties of the job
* Lead the Community Eating Disorders team in providing emergency, urgent and routine multidisciplinary assessment and treatment for young people with significant Eating Disorders.
* Assume consultant clinical responsibility for those receiving psychiatry input, supporting consultation and liaison with other professionals.
* Maintain clinical records, confidentiality and administration in line with Trust policies.
* Provide strong clinical leadership to the CEDS multidisciplinary team and participate in reviews, CPA, referral and step‑down planning.
* Ensure effective referrer engagement and professional liaison with Paediatrics, physical health teams, social care and education.
* Utilise the Care Programme Approach, Mental Health Act, Children Act and Mental Capacity Act where required.
* Work in partnership with other professionals/agencies across departmental boundaries.
* Offer clinical supervision to the CEDS MDT and consultation to referring professionals.
* Lead the development of evidence‑based practice, practice development and teaching within Adolescent Psychiatry.

Person Specification
Education Qualifications
* Full GMC registration.
Professional Qualifications
* Approved Clinician Status.
* Possession of a CCT in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry or Adult Psychiatry, or be within 6 months of acquiring one.
* Experience in the use of the Mental Health Act (1983).
Job Training and Experience
* Demonstrable competency across the PMETB approved curriculum for Child & Adolescent Psychiatry or Adult Psychiatry.
* Clinical experience or placement within a specialist Eating Disorders Service.
* Registered for CPD with the RCPsych.
Job Specific
* Demonstrable clinical interest and experience with patients with Eating Disorders.
* Strong leadership skills and commitment to service improvement.
* Ability to lead teams around complex/very ill client groups.
* Emotional awareness and self‑reflection skills.
* Commitment to training and teaching.

Salary: £109,725 to £145,478 a year, pro‑rata.
