Bloomberg Economics already offers a comprehensive macroeconomic research service for Terminal subscribers. That includes detailed forecasts, supported by thorough and original thematic research.
We are seeking a data analyst to join our team to help build country-risk indicators for a period of 12 months. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of country risk indices.
We'll Trust You To
* Build a range of country-level risk indices using large datasets, in collaboration with other colleagues in Bloomberg Economics.
* Build solutions to keep those indices up to date using APIs and automated scripts
* Contribute to the development of visualization tools to display those indices
* From time to time, collaborate with our Geoeconomics team to publish analysis featuring the country risk indices on the Bloomberg Terminal
You'll Need To Have
* Experience working with Python to analyze large datasets, call APIs and visualize data in charts and dashboards
* Experience collaborating on data projects as part of a team using Git
* Basic knowledge of software engineering best practices (e.g., writing maintainable and scalable code, testing, code review…)
* English proficiency
* Academic or professional experience of applying statistical and econometric methods to analyzing data
* Experience applying quantitative methods to topics related to political science, environmental science or economics
We'd Love To See
* Degree in political science or economics
* Experience automating scripts using Apache Airflow
* Experience with other programming languages, especially R
* Some professional experience is a plus, but recent graduates with a proven track record of collaborating on data analysis projects (as a research assistant for example) are also welcome to apply
