Project Office Support Officer – Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Office Support Officer to join our Projects & Property Team. The role includes maintaining high‑quality property, project and energy data; processing purchase orders and invoices; supporting budget monitoring; and producing reports on performance, energy usage, costs and key performance indicators. A significant element of the post involves energy and utilities administration across the Council's estate, supporting energy monitoring, billing reconciliation and sustainability and carbon reduction initiatives aligned with the Council's Net Zero ambitions.
Location: Weston‑super‑Mare Town Hall Office.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain high‑quality property, project and energy data.
* Process purchase orders and invoices.
* Support budget monitoring.
* Produce performance, energy usage, costs and KPI reports.
* Assist in energy monitoring and sustainability initiatives.
* Support Utility Billing and Financial Administration.
* Manage Property and Asset Data.
* Support the Project Office Manager with Programme Office Management (PMO) activities.
Key Requirements
* Valid driving licence and own transport (or a suitable alternative).
* Minimum qualification of GCSEs with at least Grade 5 in English and Maths.
* Experience in an administrative or data‑focused role.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of data accurately.
* Understanding of utility billing processes and/or property management systems.
* Sound organisational, communication and problem‑solving skills.
* Ability to handle sensitive information in line with GDPR requirements.
* Analytical approach with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
* Ability to prioritise competing demands and work under pressure.
* Flexible attitude and ability to produce data/reports with minimal notice/assistance.
* Clear and effective communication skills.
* Commitment to the Council's Net Zero ambitions and sustainability goals.
Desirable Experience
* Relevant qualification in business administration, housing, or facilities management.
* Experience of preparing reports and using data management systems.
* Awareness and understanding of Key Performance Indicators.
* Experience working in a multidisciplinary project environment.
