Role Details:
The Assistant Project Manager supports the Project Manager in overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the capital infrastructure project. Key duties include assisting with strategic planning, risk management, and quality control. The role requires strong communication with stakeholders and adaptability to changing project conditions, along with a solid grasp of project management principles and proactive problem-solving to ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver at pace and demonstrate effective application of programme and project management skills, tools and techniques.
* Assist in contract administration and project controls
* Monitor budgets and financial performance, preparing stakeholder reports.
* Support assurance reviews and progress evaluations
* Maintain strong relationships with contractors and suppliers
* Review cost estimates, assess proposed changes, and analyse impacts.
* Ensure adherence to client processes and regulatory standards
Key Requirements:
* Ability to obtain SC clearance and availability to work on base 3 days per week
* Minimum 4 years’ experience in project delivery
* Background in infrastructure and built environment works
* Strong commercial awareness and ability to challenge Compensation Events
* Hands-on experience with NEC4 contracts and stakeholder management
* Good IT skills
Desirable: collaborative working style and adaptability, familiarity with Primavera P6 and CEMAR (or similar tools), experience in live operational environments, ability to follow due process in a regulated facility
Qualifications:
* Degree qualified in engineering or project management
* NEC4 experience, along with membership of relevant professional body.
Desirable: NEC PRM accreditation or formal training, nuclear awareness training (NIC or similar)
