Overview
We are offering two senior-level positions within Asthma + Lung UK’s External Affairs Team:
* Senior Policy and Engagement Officer – Taskforce for Lung Health (Fixed‑term contract until December 2026)
* Senior Policy Officer – Asthma + Lung UK (Permanent)
Both roles provide an exciting opportunity to drive policy and advocacy that improves lung health across the NHS.
Key Responsibilities
Senior Policy and Engagement Officer – Taskforce for Lung Health
* Support the Taskforce in delivering its 2026 programme of activity.
* Lead and drive Taskforce policy and influencing work across priority areas.
* Produce high‑quality, evidence‑based outputs in collaboration with Taskforce members, patients, clinicians, charities, and corporate partners.
* Develop and execute the Taskforce’s engagement strategy to increase participation and impact.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Senior Policy Officer – Asthma + Lung UK
* Carry out proactive policy and influencing work on NHS services, treatment, and care for lung conditions.
* Draft impactful policy positions and recommendations using research, patient experience, analysis, and strong arguments.
* Build and sustain relationships with external stakeholders to influence positive change.
Core Qualifications
Required for both roles:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong relationship management and prioritisation skills.
* Experience developing robust policy positions and campaigning for policy change.
* Proactive, independent workload management and ability to communicate complex issues to diverse audiences.
* Comfort managing multiple deadlines and adapting to a changing external policy environment.
