Base pay range
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Document Controller to manage and oversee all project documentation for our construction projects. The successful candidate will ensure accurate and efficient handling of documentation, version control, and compliance with internal and external standards. This role is critical in maintaining up-to-date and accessible records that support project delivery and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up, manage, and maintain the project documentation system in accordance with company policies and client requirements.
Register, track, and distribute incoming and outgoing documentation (drawings, RFIs, submittals, contracts, etc.).
Ensure timely delivery and receipt of all project documents.
Maintain document logs for correspondence, technical submittals, drawings, and other construction-related documents.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure proper document control.
Ensure document integrity, confidentiality, and version control at all stages of the project lifecycle.
Assist with the preparation and submission of project closeout documentation.
Archive Documents In Accordance With Project And Company Requirements.
Train and support team members on document control systems and processes when needed.
Participate in audits and ensure compliance with ISO standards and other applicable regulations.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Document Controller or similar role, preferably in the construction or engineering industry.
Proficient in document management systems (e.g., Aconex, Procore, SharePoint) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Understanding of construction processes and terminology is a plus.
High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business administration, construction management, or a related field preferred.
Desirable Attributes:
Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
A proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
Familiarity with construction contracts, codes, and regulatory standards.
Certification in document control (e.g., ISO 9001, EDMS training) is an advantage
