Job Summary
Wrightbus is a fast‑moving company which has experienced considerable growth in the last few years. As part of this continued growth, we are looking for someone to join the team in our exciting new position of Engineering Technician – Vehicle Systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for the set up and validation of various vehicle systems and assisting with defect rectification in line with weekly production output and new product developments.
Role Responsibilities
* Perform End of Line vehicle system tests to verify vehicle functionality and compliance.
* Ensure vehicles meet customer functional requirements.
* Commission, calibrate, and validate vehicle safety systems.
* Collaborate with Design and Engineering teams to support integration of new and existing vehicle systems, ensuring regulatory compliance.
* Coordinate with third‑party system suppliers for smooth integration.
* Operate diagnostic tools and software to detect and rectify system performance issues and faults.
* Assist with development and execution of in‑house test plans to ensure ongoing product compliance.
* Resolve vehicle system issues with internal and external departments.
* Complete vehicle functionality checklists to capture system performance and parameters.
* Undertake relevant training to operate effectively in this role.
* Perform any other duties conducive to effective operation of the post.
Requirements
* Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Engineering or 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
* Knowledge of engineering technology.
* Ability to understand technical drawings, models, and work instructions.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Theoretical knowledge of good engineering disciplines.
* Automotive experience desirable.
* Good engineering hand‑skills and experience with a variety of hand tools.
