Description
We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Planning Engineer to support the delivery of a major overhead line (OHL) infrastructure scheme in a remote area of the North of Scotland. This is an initial 6-month contract on a large transmission project comprising approximately 590 towers. Part A (survey works) has recently commenced, with Part B in planning and covering civil foundations (including piling), steel erection and conductor stringing. The role is primarily office-based within the project team, focused on developing and managing the delivery programme. Strong civil engineering experience is essential; OHL experience is desirable.
Key Duties
* Develop, manage and maintain the integrated project programme using Primavera P6
* Support the planning and sequencing of survey works and subsequent construction phases
* Build and manage detailed programmes covering civil foundations, piling, steel erection, and wiring activities
* Work closely with the delivery team to develop logic, phasing, and construction methodology within the programme
* Identify critical path activities and advise on mitigation strategies
* Monitor progress, analyse programme performance, and report variances
* Produce regular progress updates and programme reports for internal and client stakeholders
* Assess programme impacts of change, risk, and emerging issues
* Support the commercial team with programme-related information for reporting and claims
* Ensure alignment between subcontractor programmes and the overall master schedule
Experience
*
Strong civil engineering background, particularly in foundations, piling, standard foundations, and earthworks
*
Experience on overhead line (OHL) projects desirable
*
Demonstrable experience developing and managing complex construction programmes
*
Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 (essential)
*
Ability to work collaboratively with site and delivery teams in a fast-paced infrastructure environment
Please note that this is a temporary role operating inside IR35, with payment made via an Umbrella PAYE arrangement
