We are currently looking for a friendly, professional and organised part time Medical Receptionist to help with the smooth running of our Enhanced Access clinics at Overton Park Surgery on Saturday afternoons. The Enhanced Access clinics provide GP appointments to patients registered at GP Surgeries in Gloucestershire. The role involves some lone working.

Main duties of the job
Your role is to assist in the smooth running of the practice by supporting patients, GPs and other practice staff, ensuring we meet both patient expectations and our high standards of service.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
* Greeting patients when they arrive and assisting with enquiries and check ins
* Assist our patients with queries and appointment bookings
* Administrative tasks including securing the building at the start and end of clinics.

Overton Park Surgery is a long established GP Practice based in central Cheltenham, having moved to the current location on Overton Park Road in 1991. We pride ourselves on being a supportive, friendly practice.
Our surgery consists of a large team of GPs, Practice Nurses and other healthcare professionals and administrative team all striving to provide an excellent service to patients at Overton Park Surgery.
The successful applicant would be working with GPs to provide a safe and effective service outside of the usual core hours of a GP Practice.
Job responsibilities
Job summary
To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, processing of information and assisting patients as required. To act as the central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.
Primary responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the receptionist. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
* a. Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system
* b. Chaperone for clinical staff as requested
* c. Signpost patients to the correct service
* d. Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies
* e. Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
* f. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
* g. Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards
* h. Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
Secondary Responsibilities
In addition to the primary responsibilities, the medical administrator may be requested to:
* a. Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records
* b. Ad-hoc administrative work as required
* c. Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
* Experience of working with the general public.
* GCSE Mathematics and English grade 4 / C or above
* NVQ level 2 in Health & Social Care
Experience
* Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
* Ability to work as a team member and autonomously
* Good interpersonal skills
* Problem solving and analytical skills
* Ability to follow policy and procedure
* Flexible to work outside of core office hours
* Experience in the use of TPP SystmOne

£13 an hour. Increases to £13.59 on successful completion of probation.
