Support Worker Tottenham, North London About the Role: We are seeking committed and experienced Support Workers to join our professional care team within a Day Centre in North London. The service provides structured support to adults with Learning Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Mental Health conditions and Complex Needs. As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care in accordance with individual care plans and organisational standards. You will be responsible for assisting service users in achieving their personal goals, supporting their emotional and physical wellbeing, and maintaining a safe and positive environment within the centre. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of Learning Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Mental Health conditions and Complex Needs with the ability to apply appropriate support strategies and always maintain professional boundaries. This role requires flexibility, empathy, and a genuine commitment to improving the quality of life for vulnerable adults. Key Responsibilities: * Assisted in medication administration, ensuring correct dosages, monitoring side effects, and liaising with healthcare professionals as required. * Helped with daily living tasks, including meal preparation, feeding assistance, housekeeping, and maintaining a clean and comfortable environment. * Ensured a safe and nurturing environment, adhering to safeguarding policies, CQC regulations, and health and safety standards. * Promote service users’ independence, dignity, and choice in all aspects of daily living. * Facilitated group and one-on-one well-being activities, such as reminiscence therapy, gentle exercise, music therapy, and sensory stimulation, to enhance quality of life. * Worked closely with families, nurses, and external agencies, ensuring a holistic approach to care and maintaining clear communication. * Respond appropriately to challenging behaviour using approved techniques and de-escalation strategies. * Record and report accurately on service user progress, incidents, and observations. * Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and multidisciplinary professionals to ensure consistent care. Requirements: * Full-time availability for shifts weekly * Proven experience within a support worker role, ideally within a Learning Disabilities/Physical Disabilities or Mental Health setting. * Strong knowledge and understanding of Learning Disabilities, Autism, and associated behaviours. * Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills. * Ability to work flexibly across shifts as required. * Reliable, professional, and committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of service users. * Enhanced DBS check (can be arranged if not currently held). * Great knowledge and understanding of safeguarding policies, CQC regulations, and health and safety standards.
