To Train as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse – Health Visiting
To work alongside the Practice supervisor and Practice Assessor to develop enhanced skills in Specialist Public Health Community Nursing.
Complete SCPHN Apprentice course at level 7. Meeting the required Apprenticeship Standards, University Academic Standards and the NMC Standards for qualification.
The apprenticeship programme combines and integrates both academic and work-based learning through close collaboration between employers and education providers.
50% will be on placement and you will be allocated a Practice Assessor and Practice Supervisor to guide and assess your development. 50% will be University time which will include study days and regular academic assessments.

Whilst an apprentice you retain your requirement to adhere to the NMC standards for registration and practice as a registered Nurse, ensuring the safety of clients and staff and acting as a role model.
Work with children, young people and families and establish relationships to explore solutions, plan interventions, safeguard and promote Public Health based on assessment alongside colleagues within Stockport Family.
To work to NMC and Apprenticeship standards alongside Trust Values and Governance and Quality Assurance in order to promote a safe working environment and quality care and support for clients.
To implement key standards from national directives and local policies and SOPs
Contribute to the improvement of service by reflecting on own practice and supporting that of others.
To work within Stockport Family integrated service recognising and using the principles of a restorative practice approach to guide practice.
To work to NMC and Apprenticeship standards alongside Trust Values and Governance and Quality Assurance in order to promote a safe working environment and quality care and support for clients.
