Salary: £48,720 plus a skills allowance of up to £12,680 for exceptional candidates.

The Home Office Voice and Video team are responsible for delivering real-time communication services across the organisation. This includes managing Microsoft Teams for internal calls, meetings, and enabling PSTN calling for 70,000 users through Direct Routing.
The team provide a Cloud Contact Centre solution using the Genesys Cloud (CCAAS) with over 25 contact centres within the Home Office. The Contact Centre supports several channels including voice, web messenger, email, SMS, and WhatsApp.
Roles and responsibilities:
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and iteration of these services, ensuring they are fit for purpose and continue to evolve as new technologies emerge.
We are seeking candidates with strong experience in the following technologies:
* Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Webex, Genesys Cloud CX, Poly Lens, AudioCodes One Voice Operations Centre.
What you will do
* Design, implement, and support infrastructure solutions across compute, storage, networking, cloud, physical infrastructure, and software (including COTS and open-source).
* Review system designs to ensure appropriate technology choices, resource efficiency, and seamless integration.
* Define and coordinate integration builds and support integration testing.
* Investigate issues by identifying patterns, consulting specialists, and implementing fixes and preventative measures.
* Follow correct procedures for issue resolution and keep users updated on progress.
* Coach and mentor junior engineers, contributing to their performance reviews.
* Act as a subject matter expert within designated areas of the team.
UK residency and security requirements - You need to have lived in the UK for the past 5 years.
You’ll have a demonstrable passion for Infrastructure Engineering, with the following skills or strong experience in:
* Providing direction and coaching to more junior members.
* Managing and delivering complex technologies within time, cost and quality targets.
* Agile development and continuous integration principles.
* Maintaining focus on the whole life cycle of service delivery; from design, development, and delivery through to operation.
* Dissecting a problem into its component parts to identify and diagnose root causes, allowing problem resolution.
* The technical concepts required in your role and an ability to build solutions.
