Utilizing professional expertise in disciplines such as community planning, archaeology, biology, engineering, or physical science, the incumbent ensures full compliance with federal, state, and local environmental laws and policies through both in-house and contracted efforts. Additionally, the role provides expert advisory services on complex projects while strictly adhering to health, safety, and environmental protocols to maintain a secure and compliant work environment. Qualifications and Key skills A degree in an appropriate scientific field, or in community planning (Example: urban affairs, architecture, landscape architecture), plus one year of specialized experience demonstrating the required key skills listed below or HND/City and Guilds/ NVQ Level 5/6 in an appropriate scientific field. Progressively more years of specialized experience (as outlined in the key skills) are required for qualifications below degree level. • Knowledge of professional environmental principles, practices, techniques, and procedures to effectively perform project development, execution, training, and advisory services in assigned program element. • Knowledge to troubleshoot environmental problems requiring investigation of unsanitary or questionable conditions in assigned program(s). • Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, and other guidance to make decisions and recommendations concerning assigned restoration, compliance, conservation, pollution prevention, and/or integration principles and practices; and health, safety, and security practices. • Skill to integrate an interdisciplinary team of professionals to include attorneys, public health specialists, public affairs specialists, biological scientists, environmental engineers, physical scientists, general engineers, community planners, regulators, other governmental officials, and community groups. • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, with technical accuracy, and establish effective working relationships with others. A valid UK driver's license (Category B) is also required for the position.
