CNC Programmer –
CNC Programmer Salary: £18 - £22per hour DOE
Shift Pattern: 38 hours per week, flexitime (Mon–Thurs: 6:30am–08:00am start times 8x hours Mon – Thurs and 5.5 hours on Fri
Orion are currently working with an innovative manufacturing company based near Luton who are looking for an experienced CNC Router Programmer & Setter to join their team. If you have strong experience in CNC programming and setting Doosan machinery, then we want to hear from you!
CNC Programmer Responsibilities:
Programming Doosan machinery from scratch
Setting up machines & performing checks to confirm quality
Create CNC programs and set up CNC router machines.
Interpret technical drawings and CAD models.
Select tools, speeds, feeds, and cutting paths.
Simulate programs to identify and resolve issues before production.
Perform first-part inspections and in-process quality checks using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and maintain a clean, organised work area.
Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve issues and meet production schedules.
CNC Programmer Required Experience:
5x Years experience in CNC machining & milling
Experience working with Doosan machinery
Strong experience with 3 axis milling machines
Advanced in CNC programming & setting
CAD experience would be advantageous ( Delcam or Space claim)
Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, GD&T, and CAD models.
Experience using machine controls and CAM software.
Knowledge of machining different materials (aluminium, stainless steel, plastics).
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues.
Time-served Apprenticeship in Engineering or HNC/HND equivalent.
Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a strong eye for detail.
