JOB TITLE: SEWING MACHINIST
RESPONSIBLE TO: PRODUCTION MANAGER
JOB PURPOSE: To sew carpets and mats meeting customer specifications and production deadlines at all times.
SALARY BAND: £25,500 per annum.
HOURS: Monday – Friday 8am to 4pm (37.5 hours).
HOLIDAY: 22 days + Bank Holidays.
PLACE OF WORK: Units 3-5 Erica Road, Stacey Bushes, Milton Keynes, MK12 6HS.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
* Previous industrial sewing machine experience.
* Ability to work a physically demanding job.
* Able to follow written instructions accurately.

* Reliable and good time keeper.
* Motivated.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ø To produce high quality products that meet specifications, both as a part of a team and independently.
Ø To achieve all individual performance standards as agreed.
Ø To produce sets of mats aligned with Company KPI's.
Ø Follow works instructions to ensure accuracy on specifications.
Ø Quality inspect sewn products.
Ø Minimise and control all waste.
Ø Carry out daily pre-use machines checks and maintenance.
TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ø Assist in development and promote the culture of continuous improvement, thereby recommending and implementing authorised changes.
Ø Comply with Health & Safety regulations at all times.
Ø Maintain good housekeeping of the department including the equipment within it.
Ø Ensure high standards of conduct, appearance and behaviour are met at all times.
Ø Communicate effectively with all team members, colleagues and management team.
Ø Participate in the company stock takes when necessary.
In addition to the above duties and responsibilities, the job holder is required to perform any other duty requested by Management from time to time.
