With a rich history of excellence in designing, constructing, and maintaining buildings and critical infrastructure worldwide, we are now offering an exciting opportunity for 5 SHEQ Managers to join our Digital Energies & Services (DES) business.
As a SHEQ Manager, you will play a crucial role in enhancing operational safety, health, environment, and quality within our DES projects, covering Energy Solutions, Smart Buildings, Connected Cities, Embedded Energy, and EV. You can be based from home or our offices in Manchester or Leeds, with site visits as required.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee SHEQ management across designated operational areas, ensuring compliance with standards and guidelines.
2. Collaborate with the head of SHEQ, other managers, and Central SHEQ to maintain robust systems meeting legal and company obligations.
3. Ensure accurate recording of reportable data (Near Misses, Accidents, RIDDORs, HiPos, LTIs, Incidents, LSV/MSV) and provide coaching when needed.
4. Develop and implement SHEQ Action Plans for each contract to promote safety and employee engagement.
5. Use SHEQ audit findings to improve safety and quality, providing guidance and feedback.
6. Mentor Safety Ambassadors and Responsible Business Champions to promote a safety culture.
7. Facilitate training and lead investigations, ensuring comprehensive reports and recommendations.
8. Support internal functions to manage risks effectively with appropriate systems and resources.
9. Build strategic relationships with regulatory bodies and industry forums.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
* NVQ 5/Diploma Level in Health and Safety management or equivalent.
* Experience working within a SHEQ team.
* Background in construction, renewables, or project management sectors.
* Proficiency in conducting complex internal and external systems audits.
* Knowledge of UK SHEQ legislation.
* Ability to work remotely and collaborate effectively.
