Job Title: Course Leader in English
Are you passionate about English and ready to lead with energy and purpose? Colchester Institute is thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for an experienced and driven Course Leader in English to take the helm of our dynamic GCSE English programme!
About the Role:
Step into a leadership role where your expertise will shine! As Course Leader, you'll:
* Take charge of our GCSE English course, ensuring it runs smoothly and successfully.
* Collaborate with an enthusiastic management team to keep our teaching resources fresh, relevant, and engaging.
* Drive curriculum innovation, shaping content that truly meets learners' needs and adheres to national standards.
* Strategically manage resources to support and empower the English teaching team.
* Create clear, user-friendly lesson templates that help colleagues plan confidently and meet key deadlines.
* Lead the way in maintaining high marking standards, setting expectations, and championing quality control.
* Design assessments that not only align with course goals but inspire learner success.
* Guide quality assurance processes with positivity and clarity, ensuring every material exceeds expectations.

Essential Qualifications:
* Education to level 3 or above and/or a professional qualification in relevant subject area or equivalent
* Minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics GCSE 4+ or C and above / CSE Level 1 / O-Level C or above / Level 2 Adult Numeracy or Literacy or equivalent
* Relevant Teacher training / completing within 3 years of employment or 3 years of the first available course
Essential Experience:
* Experience of leading courses and/or curriculum development.
* Able to demonstrate experience of working with learners with a wide range of needs.
* Experience of planning and supporting others to plan to meet quality requirements.
