Role And Responsibilities
I’m looking to recruit a Founding Engineer (TypeScript) to join a 3‑person core team at an early‑stage startup rethinking how people understand the web. This is a rare chance to join at the ground floor: you’ll shape product, engineering, and culture in equal measure.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Building and scaling our core product in TypeScript, across frontend, backend, and infrastructure.
* Designing and evolving the application architecture for speed, scalability, and flexibility.
* Solving complex data and systems engineering challenges to turn noisy, dynamic sources into a product people love.
* Wielding the most powerful machines of our time, weaving together technologies into intuitive, elegant experiences.
* Dropping into Rust where performance demands it.
* Writing a lot of code: come in on Monday, make a plan, ship and demo on Friday.
* Collaborating closely with the founder and another founding engineer to move fast, learn fast, and set the foundations of the company.
Job Requirements
* 3+ years’ experience building and shipping production systems (startup or high‑growth environment strongly preferred).
* Strong TypeScript expertise across frontend and backend (bonus: infra experience).
* Comfort working in a monorepo environment.
* Solid grounding in SQL and modern data practices.
* Track record of pragmatic problem‑solving and shipping at speed.
* Excited by early‑stage ambiguity and the opportunity to own big pieces of the product and company direction.
