Role Overview: The Senior Management Accountant will play a key role in delivering timely, accurate, and insightful financial information to support business decision-making. This role will lead on the preparation of monthly management accounts, ensure robust financial controls are in place, and provide high-quality analysis to senior leadership. The successful candidate will work closely with the Financial Controller, Head of FP&A & Director of Finance to support the company’s financial objectives. Key Responsibilities: Prepare, review, and finalise monthly management accounts to agreed deadlines. Lead month-end close processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations. Produce variance analysis with commentary on actual vs budget/forecast performance. Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure compliance with accounting policies. Prepare management reports for senior stakeholders, including departmental performance, KPIs, and trend analysis. Support forecasting and budgeting cycles, ensuring robust financial plans are in place. Provide ad-hoc financial analysis to support strategic projects and operational decisions. Work closely with budget holders to provide financial insight and challenge to improve performance. Support operational teams in understanding cost drivers and improving cost control. Ensure financial processes and controls are maintained, documented, and improved where possible. Assist with internal and external audits, providing required schedules and explanations. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax legislation, and company policies. Leadership & Development: Mentor and support junior finance team members, promoting professional growth and high performance. Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy of reporting. Skills, Qualifications & Experience: Essential: Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent. Strong management accounting and financial analysis experience. Excellent Excel and financial modelling skills. Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities. Proven ability to work to tight deadlines with high attention to detail. Desirable: Experience in the healthcare industry, and in a PE backed environment. Experience with Power BI. Knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS/UK GAAP) Personal attributes: Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills. Proactive, adaptable, and able to work independently.
