Housing Support Worker
* Annual Salary: £29,100
* Location: Flexible with travel to properties required
* Job Type: Full-time (40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends on a rota basis)
Join a dedicated team for a housing provider where we strive to address critical inefficiencies in the UK’s social housing sector. We are looking for a Housing Support Officer who is passionate about making a difference, using a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach to help residents maintain their tenancies and live independently.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Relationship Management & Partnership Working:
o Build and maintain positive relationships with referral agencies and community partners.
o Represent the service in forums and multi-agency discussions to ensure collaborative support pathways.
* Resident Support & Sustainment:
o Provide one-to-one support focusing on tenancy sustainment, budgeting, and daily living skills.
o Conduct regular reviews to assess resident needs and progress, adapting support plans accordingly.
* Intensive Housing Management (IHM):
o Conduct property inspections and manage tenant onboarding and move-ins.
o Coordinate room turnarounds and liaise with contractors to maintain property standards.
* Safeguarding & Compliance:
o Act as the first point of contact for safeguarding concerns, ensuring compliance with housing legislation and policies.
o Participate in audits and inspections to uphold service quality.
* Team & Organisational Responsibilities:
o Collaborate with colleagues to deliver consistent, high-quality service.
o Engage in ongoing training and reflective practice to maintain a trauma-informed approach.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven ability to build sustainable relationships and demonstrate empathy and respect.
* Experience in supported housing, tenancy sustainment, or a related field, or transferable skills from sectors like health or social care.
* Strong understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable adults.
* Excellent communication, active listening, and record-keeping skills.
* Ability to manage a caseload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
* Desirable: Training in trauma-informed practice, safeguarding, mental health, or substance misuse.
* Enhanced DBS clearance.
