We are seeking a proactive and reliable Finance Assistant to join our team and provide essential support in managing the day-to-day financial operations of our Faculty. About the Role: As Finance Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the Faculty's financial processes. From processing payroll and expense claims to generating financial reports and raising purchase orders, your work will help ensure that financial activities are accurate, timely, and compliant with University regulations. A key aspect of this role is your proven experience in budgeting. You will be responsible for monitoring agreed expenditure, supporting financial planning, and helping produce monthly and annual financial reports to support senior management decision-making. Key Responsibilities: Respond to routine financial enquiries and advise on financial policies and procedures. Raise purchase requisitions and invoices using the Oracle Financial System. Process payroll, studentship payments, expense claims, and invoices. Monitor faculty budgets, ensuring expenditure is recorded accurately. Assist with month-end and year-end reporting. Maintain records of petty cash and ensure compliance with payment procedures. Liaise with internal departments, including the central finance office, to ensure smooth financial operations. Essential Criteria: Proven experience in budgeting and financial monitoring. Experience in financial processes and administration. Excellent IT skills, particularly in spreadsheets (e.g. Excel).
