Overview

A Vacancy at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for dynamic, confident and motivated mental health practitioners with excellent communication skills, who have the ability to assess and lead on clinical decision making to join our established Hospital Liaison Team. This is an exciting and challenging role, working in a fast paced environment.

You will respond to service users in a mental health crisis who have presented to the acute hospital. Your main role will be to complete holistic, mental health assessments incorporating robust risk assessments and treatment planning.

Working within Core 24 principles you will be providing specialist mental health care alongside physical health. This incorporates plans for a dedicated mental health suite within the emergency department.

A variety of experience can also be gained through working across the Urgent Care. The Urgent Care Pathway consists of Hospital Liaison, Crisis Response Team and Home First Team providing mental health crisis care for the Colchester & Tendring area. The teams work closely and there are opportunities to experience working in these teams if the need arises.


Responsibilities

* Respond to service users in mental health crisis presenting to the acute hospital.
* Complete holistic mental health assessments incorporating robust risk assessments and treatment planning.
* Work within Core 24 principles to provide specialist mental health care alongside physical health; contribute to plans for a dedicated mental health suite within the emergency department.
* Gain experience across Urgent Care Pathways including Hospital Liaison, Crisis Response Team and Home First Team.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver a seven-day-a-week, 24-hours-a-day service where appropriate and operationally required.

* Collaborate with partner organisations, service users, carers, clinicians and other practitioners to deliver a 24/7 service.
* Full job duties may evolve with the post.
* Relocation package up to £8,000 for new recruits relocating from 30 miles or more.
