MedGen Healthcare is seeking compassionate, resilient, and dedicated Mental Health Healthcare Assistants to provide high-quality care and support to children and young people with complex mental health needs. This role involves supporting children and adolescents with conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, emotional and behavioural difficulties, and other additional needs. You will play a vital role in helping young people feel safe, understood, and supported in their daily lives. Location: Bath Job Types: Full-time | Part-time | Temporary (Ongoing) The Role As a Mental Health Healthcare Assistant, you will: Provide consistent emotional support and reassurance to children experiencing anxiety, distress, or behavioural challenges. Support children with autism and ADHD to manage routines, transitions, and sensory sensitivities. Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, mealtimes, hygiene, and maintaining a structured routine. Implement behaviour support plans and positive behaviour strategies in line with care plans. Safely manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours using PMVA techniques where necessary. Maintain accurate, clear, and timely records of care provided and incidents. Promote a safe, nurturing, structured, and stimulating environment tailored to individual needs. Requirements Minimum 3 years UK experience working as a Healthcare Assistant Experience supporting individuals with Autism, ADHD, and challenging behaviour. Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one). In date PMVA training (or willingness to do). What were looking for Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Good understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and professional boundaries. Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations. Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
