A GIS Specialist is required to be the driving force behind a major upgrade to the latest cloud-based ESRI suite of products – a project that will transform how geospatial data powers decisions, planning, and services for thousands of people. Along with a salary of up to £49,665 per annum (plus potential £5k market supplement), as GIS Specialist, you will receive a fantastic range of benefits including up to 31 days holiday (plus Christmas closure), a pension scheme, flexible/agile working arrangements and a workplace culture that genuinely values innovation and people. This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract with the potential of going permanent afterwards. What you’ll be doing as GIS Specialist? Alongside the big-ticket cloud migration, you’ll keep the Local Land & Property Gazetteer in top shape — managing data for 65,000 properties and making sure it’s accurate, reliable and used consistently across the organisation. You’ll also have your say on street naming and numbering, guiding senior managers, councillors, and developers through the process of bringing new places to life. This isn’t just about systems — it’s about people too. You’ll lead and mentor a small GIS team (two part-timers), helping them grow while making sure the day-to-day runs smoothly. Why this role? Because it’s a rare chance to: Lead a high-profile ESRI cloud migration project Shape the geospatial data strategy Manage and develop a team while staying hands-on Play a visible role in projects that directly impact the community It’s roughly 80% technical, 20% leadership and project management — so you’ll stay close to the tech while developing your influence and leadership skills. If you’re looking for a role where you can lead a major ESRI cloud migration, shape the future of geospatial data, and mentor a small team, this is your chance to make a real impact!
