Your New RoleAs an R&D Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and supporting research and development activities across the business. You will play a key role in identifying new technologies, developing technical solutions, and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and in line with business objectives.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Conducting research and evaluation to develop practical technical solutions to engineering challenges
2. Managing R&D activities to ensure delivery in line with project timelines
3. Identifying and reporting on emerging technologies relevant to current and future projects
4. Planning and carrying out development and validation activities, including testing and technical reporting
5. Working to detailed technical specifications across a range of projects
6. Collaborating with procurement and supply chain teams to optimise cost efficiency and innovation
7. Carrying out supplier technology benchmarking to support product development
8. Supporting prototype design of gauges and systems for various applications
9. Producing technical reports for internal and externalmunication
10. Assisting with troubleshooting and performance analysis at shop floor and service levels
11. Maintaining strongmunication across design, project, manufacturing, and service teams
What You’ll Need to SucceedTo be successful in this role, you should have:
12. A third-level qualification in Engineering (design-focused discipline preferred)
13. Experience in a research, development, or design engineering environment
14. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
15. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
16. Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
17. Excellentmunication and collaboration skills
Technical skills:
18. Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar
19. Experience with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel
