We are currently looking for a Mobile Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join our team based at Tarmac Eaton Hall Quarry, near Congleton and also covering Crown Farm Quarry near Northwich along with sites in the wider North West area. This role comes with a company van and is easily accessible from Congleton, Biddulph, Stoke-on-Trent, Buxton, Leek, Northwich, Winsford, Sandbach, Crewe, Stockport and the surrounding areas.

Main Responsibilities
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Mobile Mechanical Maintenance Fitter role is part of the maintenance and site teams at both Eaton Hall and Crown Farm.
As a Mobile Mechanical Maintenance Fitter you will be responsible for:
1. Responding to plant breakdowns ensuring assets are returned to production in a timely manner, and temporary fixes are followed up with a permanent solution
2. Undertaking emergency breakdown repairs in a timely and efficient way on all production equipment
3. Liaison in preventative maintenance planning and execution planned shutdowns
4. Owning small scale projects and delivering them in a pragmatic and proactive manner
5. Taking a cost conscious approach to maintenance activities and participating in root cause analysis so repeat failures can be eliminated
6. Coordinating with contractors and suppliers when they are on site
7. Contributing to the continuous improvement of the engineering function through your own observations and experience
8. Welding and Fabricating to a good standard
9. Working with risk assessments and method statements and contributing to the preparation and development of safe working methods for repair procedures
10. Maintaining and promoting Health & Safety rules and regulations, following all company processes and procedures
11. Challenging unsafe conditions and practices, reporting these through company procedures
12. Utilising the computerised maintenance management system and recording all work including fault descriptions, spares used and repairs carried out
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for the role of Mobile Mechanical Maintenance Fitter will be self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work with minimal supervision. You should also demonstrate proven experience working within an Industrial, Factory or similar environment. Suitable candidates for the role of Mobile Mechanical Maintenance Fitter will:
13. Have a recognised apprenticeship (preferably a higher-level standard)
14. ONC/HNC (desirable but not essential)
15. Have a strong, practical mechanical systems background, heavy industry preferred - conveyors, drive systems – motors, belts, pumps, gearboxes, crushers, vibratory screens
16. Possess a fault finding ability to identify defects and recommend appropriate action
17. Possess the ability to remove and fit bearings
18. Be capable of undertaking emergency breakdown repairs in a timely and efficient manner on all production equipment
19. Ability to assess SHE risks arising from work activities and control risks accordingly
20. Knowledge of site-specific SHE procedures and Safe Working Practices
