Description
The job itself
A Personal Assistant is required to support a young adult who has down syndrome and relies on assistance to access the community and take part in enjoyable activities.
The role involves providing support with all aspects of personal care, as well as working alongside existing routines that include PEG feeding. Scheduling will be arranged so that Personal Assistant hours do not conflict with mealtimes.
The individual enjoys a range of activities such as swimming, bowling, shopping, community walks, and spending time with favourite programmes on a tablet device. Support may also include reading stories, facilitating sensory play, and helping to engage in meaningful and stimulating activities.
The Personal Assistant will enable positive experiences in the community, encourage participation in preferred interests, and provide consistent, person‑centred support.
This role is for 4 hours per week, to be worked at weekends.
