Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract (2 Years)

Grade: 7

Salary: £43,297.57 to £50,562.57 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. (£21,648.79 to £25,281.29 pro rata for 17.5 hours per week)

Location: Bloomsbury, London

Hours: 17.5 hours per week

About the Role

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the design, implementation, and delivery of the revised SOAS MA Yoga Studies programme. In particular, they will deliver teaching in contemporary yoga practices, covering subjects such as yoga therapy, spaces of modern yoga and the yoga body. They will possess both a robust understanding of yoga and its roles in modern society and command a good understanding of its history in India.

They will be qualified to supervise postgraduate dissertations on a wide range of topics in Yoga Studies and provide support and academic advice to students. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the thriving Yoga Studies community at SOAS, through their teaching on the MA and through participation in the events organised by the Centre for Yoga Studies. They will hold Higher Education teaching experience and a PhD in a subject related to yoga studies/practice

The role is planned to commence on September 01, 2026
