Teaching Assistant - Key Stage 2 (SEN Support)

A welcoming mainstream primary school in Wandsworth is seeking a Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to provide SEN support on a part-time basis. The role is required one day per week (Wednesdays), with the potential to increase to an additional day for the right candidate.
The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to support pupils with additional needs, helping them to access learning and remain engaged within the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide targeted SEN support within a Key Stage 2 classroom
Support pupils with their learning, engagement, and emotional regulation
Work under the direction of the class teacher and SENCo
Encourage inclusion and positive behaviour for learning
Support the implementation of individual support strategies
Follow all safeguarding and child protection procedures
Requirements:
Previous school based experience supporting special needs
Experience supporting pupils with special educational needs in a primary school setting
A patient, calm, and adaptable approach
Ability to commit to a regular weekly placement to provide consistency
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
A clear understanding of safeguarding expectations within schools
This role would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant seeking a consistent part-time position within a supportive Key Stage 2 environment.
