We are now seeking an experienced Housing Officer to join their busy operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong customer service and tenancy management experience to make a real impact on residents’ lives while supporting the organisation through a crucial period. Key Details Rate: £20.84/hr PAYE or £27.56 via Umbrella Contract: Temporary contract (3 months initially, potential to extended / longer term) Location: Patch covering South East London / Hybrid The Role As Housing Officer, you’ll take ownership of a defined patch of around 190–200 properties, acting as the main point of contact for residents. Your role will be varied and people-focused, balancing day-to-day queries with long-term improvements. You’ll work closely with contractors, managing agents, and internal colleagues to resolve issues quickly and effectively, while ensuring compliance and high service standards are maintained. Key Responsibilities: Managing a patch of 190–200 properties, being a visible and approachable presence for residents. Overseeing repairs, grounds maintenance, service charges, and estate inspections. Handling complaints, tenancy breaches, and ASB cases with professionalism and empathy. Advocating for residents, hosting forums and community meetings to encourage open dialogue. Working collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality services. Ensuring compliance with health & safety, safeguarding, and housing management policies. What We’re Looking For: Previous experience in housing officer, tenancy management, or similar resident-facing role. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage relationships at all levels. Resilient and solutions-focused, with confidence in handling sensitive issues. Good organisational and IT skills, with experience managing budgets and service charges. A proactive and community-driven approach.
