Born in Bradford is an internationally recognised research programme that promotes a healthier future for young people. We have a new project called "The IRL Trial", which will be a large high-quality scientific trial that tests if reductions in social media can reduce anxiety among teenagers, and affect other outcomes such as sleep, bullying, and time spent with friends and family. Some more information about the trial is available online: https://borninbradford.nhs.uk/what-we-do/studies/the-irl-trial/.
This will be the world's first big trial examining the effects of social media on the mental health of teenagers, and has attracted substantial interest from the public, media, and government. We are looking for research assistants to help deliver this research.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for organised, motivated, and enthusiastic research assistants to work on all aspects of the trial. Research assistants must enjoy talking to teenagers and be able to explain the research to groups of teenagers in a school setting. The job will involve liaising with schools, organising sessions at schools where we enrol students into the research and collect data, delivering research sessions with groups of teenagers, and managing study documentation such as consent forms. There may also be opportunities to work on other research projects underway at Born In Bradford.
