£12.80 per hour
3 x 10am - 6pm, alternate weekends

An activity coordinator in our care home is like the chief fun officer. They create a vibrant, joy-filled atmosphere for our residents, dreaming up exciting events and hobbies such as arts and crafts, baking, book clubs, and pub quizzes.

They work closely with residents and care teams to create tailored activity plans, including gentle chair-based exercises and garden parties. Coordinators foster laughter, camaraderie, and shared experiences. Activities are not just fun but also therapeutic, including meditation and wellbeing classes to boost residents' spirits and well-being.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Running morning and afternoon activity sessions.
2. Producing and updating an activity planner within the set budget.
3. Organising birthday surprises for residents.
4. Liaising with external companies and performers for days out and events.
5. Organising one-to-one sessions with residents, such as reminiscence activities, puzzles, reading, or casual chats.
6. Supporting the home's social media channels as required.

Key skills and qualifications:

Creative thinking, budget management, effective paperwork handling, prioritisation, caring attitude, sense of humour, and enthusiasm for improving lives.
