Responsibilities
* Provide physiotherapy care to patients within the Cancer Care Therapy team, supporting recovery and maximal physical function.
* Deliver therapy services across a 6‑day schedule (Monday‑Saturday) and participate in the 7‑day service rota for weekend and bank holiday coverage.
* Lead the therapy team in the absence of Band 7 staff, overseeing clinical practice and ensuring continuity of care.
* Develop and supervise therapy staff and students, including Band 4‑5 staff development and in‑service training.
* Contribute to service development, quality improvement projects, audits and teamwork with the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
* Participate in the on‑call out‑of‑hours acute respiratory service, having respiratory skills (including NIV awareness) or completing appropriate training.
Qualifications
* Post‑graduate experience working with patients who have a cancer diagnosis.
* Post‑graduate experience managing end‑of‑life patients.
* Experience in varied clinical areas such as orthopaedics, medicine, elderly care, and neurology.
* Proven knowledge of cancer treatments, related side effects and the implications for physiotherapy input.
* Clear written reasoning for wanting to work in a specialist cancer care field.
* Understanding of NHS systems and support for staff and student supervision.
* Ability to demonstrate awareness of personal well‑being and resilience.
* Post‑graduate experience managing inpatient respiratory patients and acute respiratory on‑call shifts.
