They deliver personalised lessons aligned to the primary curriculum, often teaching one-to-one at the bedside or in a hospital classroom, with a strong focus on core skills such as literacy and numeracy to minimise gaps in learning. The teacher works closely with home schools and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity and adapt learning to each child’s health and wellbeing needs. By creating a supportive and flexible learning environment, they help pupils maintain progress and prepare for a smooth transition back to their mainstream education. The dedicated team supports pupils from EYFS through Post-16 who are receiving inpatient care, ensuring continuity in their learning and helping reduce the educational impact of medical stays.
