Role Overview
We are recruiting on behalf of a well‑established electrical manufacturing business with strong links to MOD projects. The role is for a confident and hands‑on Production Team Leader who will take ownership of a busy production cell in a regulated environment where quality, compliance, and teamwork are critical.
Key Responsibilities
* Leading and supervising a team of technicians to achieve daily and weekly production targets
* Allocating workload and managing staffing levels to ensure on‑time delivery
* Monitoring KPIs and reporting on production and team performance
* Resolving production issues through effective cross‑department collaboration
* Conducting performance reviews and supporting development planning
* Managing absence, timekeeping, and team discipline
* Mentoring trainees and encouraging cross‑training within the team
* Carrying out root cause analysis and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
* Ensuring products are built in line with quality standards, manufacturing documentation, and customer requirements
* Promoting and maintaining high standards of health and safety across the production environment
Key Qualifications
* Proven experience in a Production Team Leader or similar supervisory role
* Strong leadership and people management skills
* Experience within an electrical or regulated manufacturing environment (MOD, defence, or similar highly desirable)
* Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
* Experience using MRP/ERP systems
* Confident use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to manage performance, prioritise workload, and solve problems independently
* A proactive approach with a strong focus on continuous improvement and team development
