Position Overview:
Our Lambeth School is seeking a passionate, energetic, and motivated Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our team on a long-term basis, from September 2024 until July 2025. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a recent sports graduate or aspiring educator to gain invaluable experience within a dynamic secondary school environment while contributing to the academic and personal development of our students. This particular position would be a great opportunity for an Aspiring PE Teacher.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the delivery of high-quality physical education lessons across key stages, under the guidance of experienced teachers
2. Assist with the planning, preparation, and organisation of sports activities, fixtures, and extracurricular events
3. Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who may require additional assistance or encouragement in their physical education studies
4. Help maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment, ensuring all students have the opportunity to participate and progress
5. Act as a positive role model for students, promoting teamwork, resilience, and a healthy, active lifestyle
6. Collaborate with teaching staff to assess student progress, provide feedback, and contribute to the development of individualized learning plans
Qualifications and Experience:
7. A degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field from a recognised university
8. Previous experience working with young people in a coaching, mentoring, or teaching capacity would be advantageous
9. A genuine enthusiasm for sports and physical activity, with a commitment to promoting the benefits of an active lifestyle
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds
11. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage time effectively and adapt to changing priorities
12. A proactive and flexible approach to work, with a willingness to contribute to the wider school community
