A leading facilities management provider is seeking a Senior HVAP Data Centre Shift Technician to join their operations team at a flagship data centre in Slough. This role offers the chance to work within a high-profile, mission-critical environment, leading a shift team to ensure maximum uptime and operational safety.
Role Overview:
As Senior HVAP Data Centre Shift Technician, you will take a lead role in the maintenance, operation, and safe management of all electrical and mechanical systems, with particular focus on HV switching and schedule preparation.
Key Responsibilities:

Work on a continental shift pattern: 4 days on, 6 off, 4 nights, 4 off, 3 days, 3 nights, 4 off.
*
Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day activities of shift engineers.
*
Lead HV switching operations and assist in preparing switching schedules.
*
Ensure all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive tasks are completed to high standards.
*
Support and mentor the shift team, ensuring compliance with site procedures and safety protocols.
*
Conduct fault finding and rectification across all critical systems.
*
Liaise with clients and contractors, maintaining strong relationships and service delivery.
*
Maintain accurate documentation for compliance and reporting.
Qualifications & Experience:
*
Valid HV Authorised Person (HVAP) ticket.
*
Experience in HV switching operations, with exposure to writing switching schedules.
*
Minimum 2–3 years of lead or supervisory experience.
*
Proven track record in data centre environments with a critical engineering background.
*
Solid and consistent work history.
*
City & Guilds 18th Edition and Level 3 Electrical qualification (or equivalent).
On Offer:

£58,000–£60,000 annual salary.

Continental shift pattern, days and nights (6:30am–6:30pm).
