Private Client Solicitor Location: Marlborough, Wiltshire Salary: £80,000 to £120,000 plus excellent benefits Hours: Full time with flexible working options About the Role We are recruiting for a Private Client Solicitor to join a specialist boutique law firm advising a loyal and longstanding client base. The firm primarily works with farming families, land owning clients, and individuals with complex estates. This is a key hire within a growing practice, offering the opportunity to play a central role in the firm’s continued expansion. Y ou will manage a varied private client caseload with a high level of autonomy, delivering tailored advice and building long term client relationships. This role may suit a Private Client Solicitor, Wills and Probate Solicitor, Trusts and Estates Solicitor, Private Client Lawyer, STEP qualified Solicitor, or Chartered Legal Executive with strong private client experience. What You’ll Do • Manage a varied caseload of private client matters from start to finish • Draft wills and advise on estate planning • Handle probate and estate administration matters • Create and administer trusts • Advise on inheritance tax and tax planning • Prepare lasting powers of attorney • Deliver clear and tailored advice to clients • Build long term relationships with farming and land owning clients • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the firm • Supervise or mentor junior team members where appropriate • Maintain compliance with regulatory and professional obligations • Keep up to date with changes in private client legislation What We’re Looking For • Qualified Solicitor with practising certificate in England and Wales • Minimum 2 years PQE in private client work • Strong knowledge of wills, trusts, probate and tax planning • Experience managing a caseload independently • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills • Strong communication and client care skills • Professional and empathetic approach • Good IT skills and experience using case management systems • Ability to work collaboratively within a small team Nice to Have • Experience working with farming or land owning clients • Exposure to complex estates or high net worth individuals • STEP qualification or interest in working towards STEP • Experience supervising junior staff Who Might Suit This Role This role would suit a Private Client Solicitor looking for more autonomy and high quality work within a boutique firm.
