CAMHS Professionals are on the lookout for experienced Support Workers across all our client groups in the Essex Area. We are recruiting candidates in the following fields Family Therapy, Nursing, Occupational therapy. Psychology, Psychotherapy, Psychiatry, Social work, and Mental health Practitioners. We work with young people with who are experiencing moderate to serve emotional, behavioural, or mental health difficulties.
Main Duties
We are looking for candidates who is enthusiastic about working with young people and have a positive approach to the delivery of care which values working creatively and flexibly in partnership with young people, their families, and professional networks. Your role will be to deliver excellent quality care which empowers children and young people, supports them in their recovery journey and enables them to contribute towards the development of services and care planning.
As a support worker, you will be working within a clinical setting but also providing support to children and young people within a home, education, or community-based setting.
You will also be required to support the team to ensure the smooth running and organisation of the service, contributing towards research, evaluation, and service development, to ensure care is responsive, effective and equitable.
Job responsibilities
To provide care and support to children and young people who are experiencing a range of emotional difficulties.
To empower children and young people to support them in their recovery journey.
To work in partnership with parents/carers to implement interventions, strategies & activities to promote children and young people’s health and emotional wellbeing.
To use knowledge and evidence-based practice to deliver advice and support to children, young people, parents and carers
To work flexibly across the localities, offering clinic-based work and work in the community.
To work flexibly to support and advocate for children and young people to access the service and wider support.
To adapt to the emotional needs of children and young people to provide interventions and approaches that are embedded in recovery models of mental health.
To undertake school and home observations as required.
To adhere to the Trust and Local Authority safeguarding requirements, to promote the safety and welfare of children and young people.
To work closely with external partners and attend multi-agency and network meetings as required.
Education / Qualifications
Relevant NVQ or equivalent level of knowledge and experience.
Good general education up to GCSE equivalent.
Willingness to undertake training to meet competency framework.
Care certificate training.
Experience
Relevant experience of working with children and/or parents.
Experience of working within a clinical setting.
Working with children witadditional needs.
Skills & Abilities
Able to demonstrate commitment to high quality care and service provision.
Good verbal & non-verbal communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
Ability to work on own initiative & feedback relevant information.
Working with children/young people on a 1:1 basis.
Full UK Driving License with the ability to travel to different locations.
Knowledge & Understanding
Knowledge of normal child development.
Knowledge of some different types of neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism, ADHD and learning disability.
Good understanding of behaviour management strategies.
Working with families who are experiencing difficulties.
Knowledge of current legislation relating to Safeguarding, SEND reforms.
