HGV Class 1 Drivers - Kettering
HGV1 (C+E) Drivers required!
Location: Kettering
Pay: £18.00 Days / £19.50 Nights / £21 Sat / £22 Sun
The Role
1. Average shift length: 10–12 hours
2. 7-day operation (working week runs Sunday to Saturday)
3. AM shifts: typically start between 04:00–06:00
4. PM shifts: typically start between 16:00–19:00
5. Average of 2 drops per shift, plus collections
6. Curtain-sided vehicles – generally no handball; any occasional handball is very light
7. Delivery area spans:
North: up to Mansfield
West: Wednesbury
South: as far as Thatcham
East: as far as Lowestoft
8. Delivering cardboard packaging products
Key Responsibilities
9. Safely operate and drive HGV 1 (C+E) vehicles to transport goods to designated locations
10. Plan routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries
11. Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure road worthiness
12. Adhere to all relevant traffic laws and regulations
13. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
14. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and logistics team members
15. Shifts are booked daily with shift confirmation times texted to you the day before
Requirements
16. Valid HGV 1 C+E licence
17. Up-to-date Tacho Digi Card and an up-to-date DCPC Card
18. Min 12 months HGV Class 1 C+E experience
19. Strong understanding of road safety regulations
20. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
21. We will accept up to 6 points on your licence, but no DD, TT, DR, CD, IN endorsements.
