Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Consultant in Paediatric Nephrology within the Tertiary Paediatric Nephrology Service for South, West and Mid Wales based at the Children's Hospital for Wales in Cardiff. This post offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a respected, WHSSC commissioned tertiary service delivering high quality care to children across South, Mid and West Wales.
Responsibilities
* Provide high quality tertiary paediatric nephrology care as part of a regional service covering South, Mid, and West Wales.
* Inpatient care in the Pelican Ward at the Children's Hospital for Wales.
* Manage children with acute and chronic kidney disease.
* Involve in haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
* Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, biopsy meetings, and the transition service for adolescents.
* Deliver outpatient services at the Children's Kidney Centre and support an outreach nephrology network across the region.
* Maintain liaison with referring paediatricians.
* Operate a 1:4 on‑call rota.
Qualifications
* Applicant must be on the Specialist Register, or a Specialist Registrar within 6 months of expected receipt of CCT / CESR(CP) at the time of interview.
