Mechanical Project Manager Location: (projects across Oxfordshire, Reading, Luton & Welwyn Garden City) Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 package Type: Permanent, Full-time Start: Flexible / ASAP Role Summary A Mechanical Project Manager is required to deliver multiple new-build mechanical packages across residential, care home, and commercial developments. The role will suit an experienced mechanical delivery professional comfortable managing projects from pre-construction through to final handover, with full ownership of programme, cost control, and site delivery. Company Overview A well-established mechanical contractor operating predominantly in the new-build sector. The business delivers high-quality mechanical installations across housing developments, care homes, and commercial schemes for leading developers and main contractors. With a growing order book, the company is expanding its project delivery team. Key Responsibilities Manage the full lifecycle of mechanical works on multiple new-build projects (£500k-£3m) Take ownership of planning, installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems Oversee site delivery across heating, hot & cold water, ventilation, and renewable systems Coordinate subcontractors, engineers, and internal delivery teams Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget Liaise with clients, consultants, and site teams to maintain strong working relationships Control procurement schedules, variations, and cost reporting Produce weekly progress reports for the Contracts Manager Chair site meetings and technical reviews Ensure compliance with building regulations, H&S, and company procedures Enforce mandatory use of Price Worx and approve weekly engineer invoices Prepare project documentation, handover packs, and O&M manuals Proactively resolve technical and programme issues on site Requirements Minimum 5 years' experience managing mechanical services on new-build projects Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, LTHW/CHW, hot & cold water, ventilation, and renewables Experience delivering residential, care home, or commercial new-build projects Proven ability to manage multiple live sites Commercial awareness with experience under JCT / Design & Build contracts Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills Solid understanding of mechanical drawings, specifications, and installation methods Full UK driving licence Desirable Qualifications NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating SMSTS / SSSTS / IOSH CSCS (Manager or Supervisor level) Experience working with national housebuilders or care home operators Package & Benefits £55,000 - £65,000 basic salary (DOE) Company vehicle or car allowance Laptop, phone, and required tech Contributory pension scheme Private healthcare Ongoing training and development Clear progression within a growing business
