Senior Analyst – Market Consultancy
Location: Leatherhead, Surrey (Hybrid: 3 days office / 2 days remote)
Sector Expertise: Packaging, Paper, Print & Emerging Markets (experience in these sectors not required)

Smithers Information is seeking a commercially minded and hands-on Senior Analyst to join our high-performing consultancy team.

You’ll be part of a small, collaborative team that partners with industry-leading organisations to help shape their strategy, enter new markets, and launch innovative products.
We’re looking for someone who is not only analytically sharp but who’s happy to roll up their sleeves, get into the data, challenge assumptions, and build credible, compelling insights that drive real business decisions.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Leading the development of robust market sizing and forecasting models
2. Conducting desk and telephone research to identify key trends, players, and opportunities
3. Translating complex data into compelling narratives and actionable recommendations
4. Producing high-impact presentations and reports, supported by clear and visually engaging data visuals
5. Developing and defending research findings to senior stakeholders and clients
6. Designing and pricing project approaches for consultancy proposals
7. Shaping market surveys and quantitative research tools
8. Maintaining and evolving our proprietary market databases and scenario models
Who we’re looking for:
9. A confident, commercially aware analyst with at least 2+ years’ experience in a similar role
10. A degree in a relevant field, with strong academic and analytical credentials
11. Comfortable with Excel-based modelling and scenario planning
12. Articulate, persuasive and structured in both written and verbal communication
13. Able to juggle multiple workstreams, collaborate across teams and thrive in a fast-paced environment
14. Familiarity with industry frameworks (Porter’s Five Forces, SWOT etc.)
15. Knowledge of the packaging and/or print industries is a bonus, but not essential
