The opportunity: We are looking for a Paralegal to join our highly-regarded Intellectual Property team at Baker McKenzie, Belfast. The successful applicant will support the Firm's IP practice, handling IP prosecution, maintenance, and transactional work in a deadline-driven environment. You will work on rapidly developing IP portfolios of household names with worldwide coverage, requiring a global mindset and the ability to adapt to different requirements worldwide. The role involves collaboration with diverse teams across the globe, including technology teams, paralegals, lawyers, and partners, and driving matters forward with local counsel or clients. The successful candidate will provide key support to senior professionals and must be reliable and competent in their work.

Main responsibilities:
* Support the Firm's Global IP practice on various matters including trade mark formalities, IP M&A, due diligence, anti-counterfeiting, and trade mark searches.
* Handle technical trade mark formalities, manage operational issues, and prepare client reports.
* Assist with global IP M&A activities, drafting legal documents, liaising with counsel, and managing schedules.
* Conduct comprehensive IP asset due diligence using official registries and databases.
* Support anti-counterfeiting programs, including drafting guides, handling seizures, and liaising with infringers.
* Perform trade mark scan searches and draft high-quality reports.
* Develop legal knowledge and maintain service standards, managing workload and deadlines effectively.
Essential criteria:
* Relevant undergraduate degree with 2.1 or above preferred.
* Legal background with trade mark/IP experience preferred.
* Authorization to work in the UK.
Desirable criteria:
* CITMA qualification is an advantage.
