Overview

The Weymouth and Portland Integrated Community Rehab Team are looking for a Rehabilitation Assistant to work within their multidisciplinary team, based at Westhaven Hospital in Weymouth. We are a friendly team consisting of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Registered Nurses, Therapy Assistant Practitioners, Rehabilitation Assistants and a Team Administrator. We are a hardworking and dynamic team, committed to providing high quality care and rehabilitation to the residents within the Weymouth and Portland area through integrated and collaborative ways of working in conjunction with our colleagues within the Primary and Social Care sectors.

Being a car driver is essential for this role.

The Integrated Community Rehabilitation Team is a multi-disciplinary team offering therapy to a wide range of people within their home environments to prevent avoidable hospital admissions and facilitate earlier hospital discharge as well as in-reaching onto the wards.

This role may require a period of time working on the rehab ward and in the community. You will need to be flexible in your approach and confident to work alone. Basic IT skills and NVQ level 2/3 would be advantageous.

Responsibilities and requirements

* Responsibilities will require you to work mainly under supervision of the clinicians within the team, but also to work autonomously within your competencies.
* You will need to have the ability to drive a car as you will be required to visit patients in their own homes and other community settings.

Qualifications and attributes

* Experience of rehabilitation or a caring role, with good verbal, written and team-working skills.
* Flexible and confident to work alone; able to adapt to different settings (home environments and community).
* Basic IT skills and NVQ level 2/3 would be advantageous.
* Due to the travel component, the ability to drive a car is essential.

What we offer

In return for your enthusiasm and commitment, we can provide an environment to develop your clinical skills and experience with regular supervision and appraisals. You will be supported through training to help achieve your competencies.

Compliance and employment information

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
