About the Role Job Purpose: Overall responsibility and accountability for the Maintenance, Production and Distribution functions, which will include people and budgetary management. The manufacturing function will cover various processes and methods to transform raw materials typically but not limited to sheet steel, components and parts into finished goods for customers to required standards of quality, cost, delivery and safety. This will include assemble of not metallic components Managing the Maintenance, Production and Distribution team, you will have overall responsibility in all aspects of planning, organising operational activities. This includes Production, Maintenance, Quality, Consolidation, Distribution and working with other departments, any legislative control requirements linked to ISO, FSC, CBAM, UKTR and EUDR. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Overall responsibility for manufacturing and maintenance activities at the Hirwaun site. Support and implementation of best practice manufacturing strategies, policies, processes, and procedures to drive business performance. Ensure that manufacturing processes and strategies meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of cost, quality, and delivery. Contribute to the development of overall business strategy and the annual budgeting process. Ownership of manufacturing and maintenance policies, guidelines, and associated documentation. Initiation and development of creative and innovative manufacturing and maintenance processes. Implement Lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and drive cost savings. Lead continuous improvement initiatives across production and maintenance functions. Ensure preventative and reactive maintenance programmes are in place and delivered effectively to minimise downtime. Reviews, records and develops creative and innovative manufacturing & maintenance processes Competencies and Requirements: 3 years plus experience of leading a manufacturing function with a proven track record in strategic manufacturing & maintenance delivering effective processes and systems, combined with an engineering background Complex manufacturing experience from raw material to finished product in a multi-product line/specification process, using sheet metal fabrication, roll form, CNC & FME and electrostatic powder coating equipment Professional Health & Safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH) is highly desirable Education and knowledge of Six Sigma Black Belt would be a distinct advantage.
