The Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant Role
As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting both the academic progress and emotional wellbeing of pupils.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide 1:1 support for pupils with SEND including ASD, ADHD and SEMH
2. Assist in implementing individual education and behaviour support plans
3. Support emotional regulation and social skills development
4. Deliver small group interventions in literacy and numeracy
5. Work closely with class teachers to adapt learning materials
6. Monitor and record pupil progress and behaviour
7. Promote a positive, safe and inclusive classroom environment

What We’re Looking For in a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant
8. A degree in Psychology (within the last 3 years Essential)
9. A strong interest in child development and behavioural support
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
11. Patience, resilience and adaptability
12. A genuine passion for supporting children’s wellbeing
13. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Experience working with children (schools, tutoring, care, youth work, coaching, mentoring) is highly desirable.
