The post holder will work in the Northern Ireland hub providing psychiatric leadership across the service.
You will provide senior clinical and psychiatric expertise to the multidisciplinary team, contributing to the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment recommendations for veterans on both residential and outpatient basis.
This role will be subject to an Access NI check.
Main duties of the job
General Overview of Role
* Provide leadership in psychiatry within outpatient services in the Hub region and support the wider charity.
* Assess, diagnose, and recommend treatment for veterans, providing psychiatric expertise.
* Be clinically responsible, alongside the senior psychologist and other professionals, for managing veterans' care within the Hub.
* Advise the Head of Operations/Deputy on clinical matters, provide psychiatric leadership, and develop interdisciplinary team working to meet clinical needs.
* Support service development through psychiatric and medical advice.

Salary: Combat Stress Consultant Psychiatrist salary scale
Hours: Part-time, 18.75 hours/week, hybrid working. Must work Tuesdays at the Belfast Hub.
Location: Belfast Hub, Northern Ireland, with occasional remote support to England hubs.

Qualifications
* Registered Medical Practitioner with GMC
* Member of recognized Defence Society
* MRCPsych or FRCPsych or equivalent
* Completed higher training
* On CCST register in General Adult Psychiatry / Forensic Psychiatry
* Approved under NI Mental Health Act legislation
* Postgraduate degrees in Psychological Trauma
* Training in management of personality disorders, psychotherapy including CBT, EMDR, group therapy
* Experience with veterans' mental health and military environment

* Clinical management of psychological trauma victims
* Ongoing CPD/PDP, clinical governance participation, risk management
* Leadership, audit, research, and publication experience
* Working within a recovery focus, interdisciplinary leadership, cultural awareness
