Overview
Savile Park Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our hard-working team. The role involves working in an early years/key stage 1 classroom; leading activities with individuals (some with complex additional needs), groups of children or the whole class and providing general support for the class teacher. The role also includes lunchtime supervision of the children.
Location: Halifax. Application closing date: 26/09/2025. Salary: Scale 3 (Pro-Rata £18,194 per annum). Package: 31.66 hours per week, term time only, Permanent. Required as soon as possible.
Responsibilities
* Lead activities with individuals, groups or the whole class under the direction of the class teacher.
* Provide general support to the class teacher in delivering the curriculum.
* Supervise children at lunchtime and assist with pastoral and welfare needs where needed.
Qualifications and requirements
* Experience of working with children/young people in a school environment.
* Knowledge of the national curriculum is essential for this role.
* Positive attitude, ability to work within a team, and a real commitment to nurturing and supporting children in all aspects of school life.
* Safeguarding commitment. Applicants to posts exempted from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act will require a DBS (formerly CRB) from the Disclosure and Barring Service before appointment.
